MUEG Mitteldeutsche Umwelt- und Entsorgung GmbH
In a region whose landscapes bear the typical marks of the south-east German lignite surface mining and chemical industries, former mining experts and analytical chemists came together in 1990 to try to heal the wounds of the past and minimise the ecological impacts from our consumerist society. As the result of their efforts, the company MUEG Mitteldeutsche Umwelt- und Entsorgung GmbH was incorporated that year, starting its operations with a staff of 14. Its shareholders are, in equal parts, REMONDIS Kommunale Dienste Ost GmbH and MIBRAG Mitteldeutsche Braunkohlengesellschaft mbH.
