Tree planting campaign for the recultivation of the ‘Grube Siegfried’ opencast mine in Deuben

Pflanzaktion Rekultivierung Grube Siegfried

On 22 November 2024, a tree planting campaign took place as a community planting for the recultivation of the ‘Grube Siegfried’ open-cast mine in the Trebnitz area.

The planting campaign was organised in cooperation with the SPD member of the state parliament Rüdiger Erben, the Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald Sachsen-Anhalt e.V., the mayor of the town of Teuchern, Marcel Schneider, and MUEG Mitteldeutsche Umwelt- und Entsorgung GmbH.
As part of the voluntary campaign, citizens and members of local associations and organisations planted around 1,800 trees over an area of approximately 1 hectare.
The campaign is part of the final design of the open-cast mining pit as a local recreational area for the municipality of Trebnitz.
We would like to thank all those who took part in the tree planting campaign and helped to shape the surroundings of the municipality of Trebnitz.
