For our field of utilisation of residual waste from power plants in the Lochau waste material recycling plant, branch line at the Schkopau (Lochau) site, we are seeking, starting at the next available date, a committed and qualified railroad manager / head of supervisory area for branch line (m/f/d), to replace a member of staff who is close to retirement age.

Your responsibilities

  • During the introduction period spent under the current holder of the position: Taking on the responsibility and tasks of the assistant railroad manager for the non-public branch line of MUEG.
  • From 01/02/2022, taking on the responsibility and tasks of the head of ‘Supervisory area for branch line’, including the tasks of railroad manager and the personnel duties for subordinate employees
  • Supervision of operations-, construction-, machine- and carriage-related activities as well as safeguarding and telecommunications tasks related operation and maintenance.
  • Independent delegation of tasks and instructions for the required operation
  • Qualification to perform the tasks of station master or train driver / foreman shunter within our own industrial railway or branch line while observing the applicable rules and regulations
  • Documentation of preparatory and finalising work related to the operation of the recycling plant for residual waste from power plants and of the sidings
  • Qualification to provide workplace-related training and qualification to employees
    Safety-conscious way of working during regulation operation and in the event of faults

Our Requirements

  • Railroad manager for non-public railways
  • Successfully completed training as foreman shunter or equivalent qualification
  • Experience with managing a supervisory area and/or a (non-public) branch line in connection with personnel responsibility is appreciated
  • Successfully completed training as railway employee in operational service, specialising in guideways, or as signalman with knowledge of panel-operated signal boxes, GS II/III design, is appreciated
  • Successfully completed training as train driver (TfV/operator) and carriage checker G is appreciated
  • If required, also willingness to perform on-call duty services and to work in shifts and on weekends
  • Secure use of computers and MS Office applications
  • Proof of sound health as required for work in railway operations
  • Strong communication skills combined with self-assertive ability
  • Reliable, independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working, team skills
  • Analytical and creative thinking
  • Willingness to continuously learn
  • Driver’s license, German Class B
